Getting around
A key feature of Bardonecchia is its railway station—a rarity for a mountain resort. It also serves as the terminus of the Turin-Bardonecchia motorway and the starting point for the Fréjus Road Tunnel, which connects at Modane to the French Maurienne Valley motorway, linking in turn to France's major highway network. The nearest airport is Turin-Caselle. Free shuttle buses are readily available within the town, serving all areas of Bardonecchia as well as the two main ski lift hubs (Campo Smith and Jaffreau).
Neighborhood
The apartment is located in the quietest part of the town center—a peaceful area surrounded by greenery and tranquility. A ten-minute walk from the town center and Campo Smith (where the ski lifts depart). 200 meters from the Palazzo delle Feste, the tennis courts, and the football pitch—which hosts training sessions every summer for Italian Serie A and/or lower-division football teams.
Bardonecchia sits in the middle of a sunny basin, serving as a starting point for accessing ski slopes in winter and the bike park in summer. During peak season, the town sees up to 30,000 daily visitors. Tourist amenities include traditional restaurants, wine bars, pubs, pizzerias, nightclubs, piano bars, a cinema, and nightlife venues. Sports facilities—such as fields and courts for soccer, tennis, volleyball, basketball, and bocce, as well as indoor sports halls, gyms, fitness centers, indoor pools, and high-altitude golf courses—complement the winter sports infrastructure. Conference tourism, music, theater, and live performances are also supported by the *Palazzo delle Feste* (Festival Hall). Winter sports activities are centered in the ski areas managed by Colomion S.p.A. and owned by the French company La Belle Montagne.
